A Spirits’ Shop Selection bottling of Clynelish single malt, distilled in 1997 and bottled in 2017 as part of the Cellar Book collection for La Maison du Whisky. Only 261 bottles were produced.
Clynelish has quickly become one of our favourite Highland drams for its citrus, perfume nose and characteristically waxy finish!
We were really excited to try this dram!
Nose: sweet, fresh basket of fruits
Palate: warm, smooth texture, bourbon vanillas make the first impression, opens up into pears, apricots
Finish: bitter, tannic aftertaste, drier finish, after-notes of English tea
I found the typical waxy finish missing. Perhaps the finish for me was not my favourite, almost overwood bitters but still overall a nice dram for most!
The beautiful pair from the Spirits Shop Selection – look out for our tasting notes for the Ledaig.
Clynelish is an awesome single malt whisky.
Please try Cadenhead Clynelish 21 as well. I’m sure you’ll love it too.
