We had a real treat at our favourite whisky bar in Hong Kong – brilliant selection
We made our way up one of those old creaky lifts in Lan Kwai Fong, the lift doors opened into an inviting Whisky Bar – Club Qing
We asked the bar for a Chichibu and he hit us with his best shot (dram)
This Chichibu is a single cask bottling by Malt Dream, limited to a small bottle per person.
Clearly the best Chichibu I’ve tasted
Nose: bourbon, vanilla, honey, very balanced, gentle and approachable
Palate: warm and silky texture, slight notes of spice but finely balanced and the creme de la creme of a bourbon influence, with sweet vanilla notes being the main play, different layers and nuances of bourbon sweetness
Finish: Long finish, spicy, with special expressions of bourbon, a very unique and special chichibu indeed
